Scientific Research Ethics
1. Researchers must adhere to the rules of honesty and academic integrity. They must adhere to reference and documentation styles’. guidelines of the chosen academic style by citing sources in an academic manner through in-text citation and the references list, with accuracy and honesty. In addition, academic responsibility includes adhering to the acceptable limits of quotation, avoiding research misconduct such as fabricating or falsifying the results for any purpose, and not ascribing others ideas/work to himself as his own thought/work.
2. Researchers are obliged not to use research for non-scientific or non-scholarly purposes, such as political purposes, personal interests, favoritism to relatives, or to compliment an official, body, or institution, whatever it is.
3. Researchers must adhere to core values, i.e. objectivity, honesty, impartiality, openness, and fairness. Special precautions must be taken to avoid conflict of interest and bias, Researchers must conduct their research complying with recognized scientific and ethical considerations. It is their responsibility to disprove the null hypothesis and to accept and report the results using the evidence and data, even if these results are not consistent with their beliefs and ideas.
4. Researchers must maintain the confidentiality of the personal and economic information of the participants and their institutions. A breach of confidentiality violates a person’s rights and poses risks on the researchers’ research ethics and trustworthiness.
